W6V2's are really good subs, but the ones I listen are about 1/2-1/3 of the price of a 10W6V2...even in their 10" form. If you have the money to spare, the W6V2 is a very good sub...but I'd never pay the money for one.How would that compare to the JL10W6?
Ok, there is someone selling them on here, they are like new and the price is fair. I dont have many to pick from and the box being the limit. Before I get Hella thread jacked, but its cool Nismo. We both have the same truck looking for the same effect here. But you have 600W RMS, I have 300W RMS @ 2ohm.
So my question now is would it be more effective to have 300W going to an 8" or 300W going to a 10"
I'm leaning towards the Assassin, RE RE8 is nice but I keep reading about how RE Audio is overpriced now and quality, etc are going down. For 100 bucks the AA Assassin 8" is cheap!
However, if Nismo's right (I can't find the dimensions on the IDQ v3) then an IDQ 10" v2 might fit the bill.
I'm not really sure of the drawbacks of going with 8" or 10" when the same amount of power is going to them.
All right, if it were me.
RL-i 10 ported
But that's just me, and if you have the room for the ported enclosure. IIRC SS only recommend like .5 ^ ft ported for the RL-i 10...
That'd be something to think about, if it were me
Until the SS RL-i comes back, the Assassin is one of the best options.
Thanks Guys. I really Appreciate it.a 10" of the same sub compared to is 8 will have more output off the same power. They won't sound much different other than it'll be easier to get the 10 to play lower.
i'm selling a bnib fi x 10 if your interested. its extremely similar to the assasin.. looking for 70 shipped.
but look at the rms wattage of a assasin 10 to 12.Thanks Guys. I really Appreciate it.
Final Question though. If I get more output with a larger sub, 8 vs 10, with the same amount of power going to each, that doesn't quite make sense? Isn't it more efficient to use a smaller sub and over power it than to under power a larger sub? Because I was under the impression I should match my sub to the amount of power I plan to supply it with.
IE: 8" Assassin is REC: 250W RMS, VS a RL-i8 has a REC 250-500W RMS.
I'll have 300W @ 2 Ohm on tap
