It may be an old school 60ish or early 70's Mustang......

Those aren't 6x9s either.

On my 66 they are more like 5x8s.

However there are 5 holes back there. You could put a 6x9 in the middle I guess.

I have the premier revs 6x9s and do have to say they are very nice great clear sound along with good midbass for the rear for your friends to also here when the sub's are not on.

Alright, my neighbor is wanting to run all 6x9's in a Mustang and wants to get 2 nice sets

Before ever answering we should really ask the question of why?

First off 2 sets are a bad idea, and secondly you would be better off with a component set over a 6x9. 99 out of 100 6x9's are junk although you can find ones worth using, components on the other hand are not that way at all.

My 23 year old Magnum Professional 6x9 woofers can generate alot more midbass than a 6.5 can. I have even used the Morel MW-166 with the 3" VC's and some Orion HCCA 6's but the cast aluminum framed Magnum's just have more tight midbass output.

I would also put up an old pair of my Cerwin Vega CS-18A's (top mount only though) against any 6.5 out there today and they are coax's with the horn tweeter integrated into the metal grill.

As you said though these are old school but the Polk Momo 6x9's and the JBL T595 are monsters and sound nice if you can fit them in.

I am not sure why. I am trying to get him to change his mind, but he is pretty much set.

Whats some good Comp. sets (6.5) and maybe I can get him to change his mind.
