I am thinking about getting some really good comps real soon, but i need something that is rated at 150 rms or higher. I need them to be $250-300 tops. I'm tired of turning the volume up and hearing distortion, so i need something really nice.

Any suggestions?

u arent happy with your cdt comps
i don't know, they just aren't that great, and i want as little distortion as possible. I listen to metal 90% of the time and i need better sound quality because the midrange isn't that impressive with the cdt's at high volumes.

Why not try two sets of PG RSDs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
i can only get 1 set of 6.5's man.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

what set do u have and how much power from wat amp

thats why u have the lowest quality cdt comps out i recall

get the new cl-62 comps with the tw-25 tweet and give them 150-175rms per side and i gurantee u will be much happier and make sure u deaden and seal your doors and u will think u have lil subs in your doors, i didnt have mine deaden or sealed at all they were free air basically and they still had good midbass

Surprised those don't sound better. Maybe it is your settings, or you could be giving them to much power. I can't remember what the RMS are on those. Usually if you run a ton of power to a set, would be better to do it so running active. If you are running that much power on passive, that might be the reason they are distorting so much.

they sound great on rap, in fact, i actually enjoy them when listening to rap. But when i listen to metal, they seem to have a weird sound that hurts my ears. I know it's not the settings though, i mess with them every day to get the perfect sound.
