Bench test?

I need to test out an amplifier, to make sure it works well. What shops would I go to? Is a bench test all I need, or a full check? Where would I go in S. Cali.?

a local audio shop should be able to help you, not like best buy or something like that but any well established audio shop should be able to test it for u

just hook it up to your engine with some wire to see if it turns on [remote+battery goes to + terminal, ground goes to - terminal], use a walkman and some headphone->RCA for the RCA inputs, and then hook a speaker up to the outputs

Any local shop that has a repair department could test functionality for you.

It will probably cost you $25-$35 though.

check the voltage coming out of it see if its says what its supposed to be
