Beer Taste

Haha. That brings back memories. I once made a Stout with vanilla bean and licorice - it ended up tasting more like Root Beer than Stout.

Picture this - A blend of dark malt with roasted bitterness rounded with the flavour of vanilla, and then a slight hint of licorice when it goes down.

If you want to hear gross, try this one:

I read on a brewing forum that a guy brewed a beer with the carcasses of the Cicada insect. I guess there was an outbreak of them a few years back in the U.S. and he had all of these dead bugs laying around. He did some research and found that the outbreak happens ever 17 years or so. So he decided to celebrate the anniversary.

Here's a link to the bug info:

Whats the beer called I want to try it

I used to drink Guiness...and there is a pub on 4th st in louisville that I go to to get 1/2 Bass and 1/2 Guiness...those get pricey to make at the house though. It just isn't that worth it to me.
Local bar has $2.50 newcastles and I drink several of them.
i'd probably enjoy guinness a lot more from a tap. it gives it a different taste IMO. never thought to mix beers...

How did you like the black? I've been meaning to try it out. I love Shiner Bock.
it was a very good beer. if you don't like darker beers, you won't like it. very heavy.

I agree. Although I must give them credit. Guinness is arguably responsible for single-handedly keeping the Stout style alive through the years when all other companies moved away from it.
true. they have been around for a while. and i like other stouts, just it didn't impress me like i thought it would.

meh. a dont like sweet beer. the Sam Adams Cherry Wheat was pushing it. and the Leinkugel (sp?) blueberry was also a no-go for me.

Favourite everyday beer - Molson Canadian

Favourite get drunk beer - Old Milwaukee ICE

Favourite "expensive" beer - Steigel

Steigel HAS to be from a can though, I dont like it for some reason in a pint
