I've been out of car audio since 2006. Not driving with a system sux! I'm looking for a simple sql system. I listen to mostly metal. I'm looking for a 2 way component that has good mid bass and airy highs without making your eardrums bleed. Biampable would be nice but not mandatory. I'm going to be using a ppi black ice 4 channel. I think it's the 1000.4 my budget is about $250. This is going in a 2003 maxima se. Doors will be deaden. I'm going to doing two 15's sealed in the trunk. I like loud and clean.

The new Black ice amps are overrated junk. If it looks to good to be true it normally is. Every brand you knew from 2006 forget about.

Also 2 10s ported will destroy 2 15s sealed in every way.

I'm looking for killer midbass without having to add 250 lbs of deadner per door. Are the dream series that much better than the BC6.5' s by DD? And... How much are the dream series components?

Everyone that has them loves them I've heard them a few times. And they sound great. But as you know it's about the install as much as the set. $300 shipped for them

any good speaker will need a good install.

you can the greatest install known to man but you cant polish a turd. I've ran with brax, dls, and zapco. I know all about great sq systems. Unfortunately... I don't have the funds for that kind of system. I want something loud, clean and budget friendly

Negative. It's 100% correct. Ported nets 3db plus over sealed. There is not a -3db cone area lose.

but you want to go the opposite way..

get good speakers but not do a good install. so its the same thing. it will sound not so good.

im using cheap speakers, and my **** sounds very good.

its all in the install. i spent a lot of time doing my doors right. and that includes deadener...

so yes you can get cheaper brands, if you take your time and do it right they will sound very good.

plus eq'ing is a must for great sound.

What you're saying is theoretical. And even if it was 100% correct your definition of destroy must be different than mine. I temporarily ran 2 RE SX 15s in 4 cubes sealed on 2 strapped eD nine.1s. No chance would 2 SX 10s ported on the same power have been as loud. Maybe close but not quite

You would be suprised what a well designed ported setup can do.
