Bazooka amp trouble. Bazooka BA 1500 not powering on.

Just purchased a bazooka amp (BA 1500) & a 12" kicker L5 used. When I hook up the power & the ground for the amp it will automatically go into protection mode. After a little time thinking on it, I decided to unhook the sub from the amp to see if that changed anything. The only difference is that it takes about 5-8 seconds longer before it goes into protection mode again. It has a 4g. power wire & 8g. ground wire & 3 new specified 20a fuses. What could be the problem here?

Sounds like the amp is blown, provided you have everything hooked up properly.

That's what I'm thinking too. I took the cover plate off to see if I could smell or see anything burnt up. It didn't appear to be, but that doesn't really mean much tho. It's trash now.

PIck up a taramps hd3k or md3k off of amazon for less than $200. Turn the gain down and order a voltmeter to wire to the amplifier input terminals.
