Battle Of The 8's

it seems as if my 9512 can be outperformed by 3-4 eights //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
it can be done with the right vehicle, box, and power

my friend did just over a 150 with a single 1508 in an ext cab f150 seeing around 1800 in a fart box

sounded like complete garbage obviously. the good thing though was the sub was still in good shape and could still be used

how about cone area for 16 L5 8's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
squares are too easy to calculate.... bad news tho.... squares are not in my agenda.... i have never ever liked them... i have never seen a square sub setup impress me.... people with walls of 4 18" solo x's.... boring and the numbers havent been that impressive either.

no how about 16 L7 8s ooppppppppssssssss..................................... me and skip01 will do some test with the L7 8s hopefully this weekend going to use 4 8s on a 40.1 at .5 and see what numbers we get out of them will keep people posted!
i bet 20 bux a 1508... no no... even E8's would put up better spl numbers...

uhhh apparently you havnt seen a certain van with some boring square subs that hits really boring numbers too :p

but i cant say i like the square subs either although 8 solo x 18's in a van was more then interesting.

We had some interest on some 8" for small classes like SB and from shops. I put it off in 2008 but we are bringing some 1000w rms 8" in the next couple months.

we have a guy thats going to try four 8" vs two 10" in SB1. The problem was getting a strong 8" cone to handle 1000 rms and couple thousand for burps but i beleive we have it taken care of.

These going to be high FS burp woofers or will they be "decent" on music as well? Always down to try new 8's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

We are making them good for music. They will end up part of the Sonance series and use a 6.75" dia. motor. 2 1/2" vc that with 52mm coil height.

For the strictly SPL we will use a stiffer suspension and a taller top plate.

Sounds like they could be fun. Might have to check a few out when you start sellin them.

Well, i am talking about daily bangin, i am trying to figure which would be easier. To keep my 9512 and build a good enclosure(finally) or ditch it and go with eightsss
