Battle Of The 8's

I think it would help for people who have owned any awsome 8inch woofers to come forth and share their opinions about them. Seems super awsome 8inch drivers are the new thing. So anybody who has had a DD1508, Sundown E8, Re 8, or anything else i havent head of.

Looking for output, sound quality, enclosure and anything else you can think of.

i have always wondering why people run 8inch woofers, why not 10's or 12's

is it just "uber cool" to have 8's or do they sound better than 10's or somthing. Im not bashing just wondering reasons people run 8's.

I've tried many 8's but theres nothing like DD 1508's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
151.3 on the glass using 4

subs/port forward in an ext cab ranger

there are other 8's out there that are very good and worth the $ but the 1508 is a hard one to beat

Can't speak for others, but for myself its fun to play around with different stuff, including 8" woofers

save a ton of space

save $ on larger subs

crisp clean bass (as stated about they will hit the lows like you wouldnt believe)

when you can say you have done anywhere near a 150 with a single 8 it shuts people up fast

other than when they dont believe until they see and hear it happen

8s are just different. Everyone runs 10s or 12s, seems alot of people simply like enjoy trying to make 8s louder than guys with larger subs.

then there are the obvious reasons, like space savings etc.

can fit more subs.... more cone area.....

cone area break down for my class SB3 in usaci.... limited by subwoofer size

x2 - 15" woofers - 383.42 in total cone area

x4 - 12" woofers - 452.40 in total cone area

x8 - 10" woofers - 628.32 in total cone area

x16 - 8" woofers - 804.32 in total cone area

may be off my some.... but overall.... there will be more cone area........ i likey....
