ok i did a lil searching but i was still left wondering... and this will sound dumb but if i dont ask question how will i learn...do deep cycle batt.'s need to be recharge or do they charge off the alt. ? and do i still need a starting batt. if i install a deep cycle? thank you for the help

No you don't have to recharge them separately, they work similar to a regular battery in that they charge off the alternator. However a deep cycle battery can be discharged and recharged more frequently without killing the battery. Regular batteries have a problem with sudden and frequent discharging. They usually die. With a deep cycle battery, this is not as big a factor. Not to say that you can't kill a deep cycle battery by discharging it, but it is not as easy. You will not have to buy a starting battery as well if you buy and install a deep cycle.

And I agree. There is only one stupid question and that is the one that you don't ask. If you don't know then it is not a stupid question. = )

Hope this helps
