Bass without music playing?

Is my amp input level too high if I hear a low rumble from my subs when no music is playing? Is there Any way to get rid of this other than losing some power and turning the input down?

Well I need to check because circuit city ran my last cables and I just got a new amp and subs because my old ones were stolen. I believe the RCA cables run near the power cable but I am not sure for how long. Is a Db Drive platinum 1200.1D a shit amp? I just got a good deal on it so...

Yes, lol JK JK thats strictly opinion.

IMO I think I think you'd get better sound if you attached the sub leads with alligator clips with the positive to your left nut, and the negative just stick up your anus, then eat 3 cans of hormel chili and start singing Oh-canada while visualizing the force. You get more DB's if you wave around a lightsaber btw.

Low rumble or the sound of static can be because your gain is set way high.

Cute Cotjones... The gain/input level is not too high but ill tone it down. I looked and those retards at circuit city that initially hooked up my old system ran the RCA with the power...how big of a problem is that?

That's what I thought... Well I guess it won't be a simple swap "in the new stuff for old stuff." Also, when I play music, sometimes at random spots really loud constant bass hits and doesn't stop for a couple seconds. Could that stem from the RCA cable? The weird thing is I never had a problem with my kicker subs and amp...All of the cables are the same cables used for a kicker kx600.1D. Do I need to change more crap to match the new db drive 1200.1D amp?
