bass shuts off

In my firends car he has a rockford amp pushing two rockford subs. When we play the system, after like 20 minutes the bass shuts on and off randomly. Why is this happening?

your ohm load is too low and the amp is using its emergency shut off most likely.....

what amp? what subs and what is the voice coil config on the subs?

also, check all your connections to make sure they are secure

he has it wired 2 2ohms. its dual voice coils. the amp is a 700s. the subs are HX2's

then check the connections if you know that the amp can handle that ohm load.

connections are good, should i change the ground? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

how is everything wired???? 2 2ohm doesnt make sense....are there 2 2ohm dvc subs wried in parallel or series/paralell....and what ohm rating is the amp stable to????

i meant 2 subs at 2ohms. the amp is capable. ist is a 2 ch amp and is bridged.

o, and is it ok for the ground if he just took a hole in the trunk and put a nut and bolot through it and hooked the ground to that?
