I've been having trouble finding a new sub that can fit in a small box. I've looked through many options and with very limited trunk space, I need a small box and can't really spend all to much. I know you get what you pay for, but my goals are DEEP, rich, tight, clean bass.. basically sq. My cars a hatchback so i dont need a ton of power to bust through a trunk.

For this sub, should I go sealed or ported? Or does anyone have any other suggestions, less than 200$ for a sub that will give good sq? Was thinking an alpine type x but my amp only does 720RMS.

Go with the RE SE x. You will love it. I have been running the RE SE 12's in my truck with .83 cuft before sub displacement. Im starving them with airspace a bit, but Im throwing 750 watts rms per sub.

I am also putting two RE SE 10's in my friends regular cab truck. That SE 10 will enjoy 720 watts rms. They really like 750-1000 watts rms and can do it all day long with no problem. The SE's sound great in either enclosure, but they really shine in a ported box tuned down to around 32hz. With 720 watts, I'd say throw it in a ported box, tuned low, depending on how much space you have.

So the question is.. How much space do you have for a box?

Ported can be perceived as what you described. Give it optimal space and tune to a response curve you like, and tahdah.

There are other options as well, if you want. Maybe investigate Image Dynamics. Their ID line was popular here for a quick minute, as were the higher models, such as the IDQ and IDMax.

I'm guessing your definition of SQ is not the same as a competitors, so you can also look into IA LI, Skar VVX, SSA Icon, and many many more. Research will be your friend //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
