Bass plays when car is off!

Whenever my friend shuts off his car there is a constant deep bass

it does not stop until he unplugs the RCA cables

what could the problem be?

Good question.

I cant say that I've run into this problem before but. I'm curious as to what the answer could be.

But the remote wire/turn on sounds like it has an issue.

it could probably be a ground issue too

could it be his hi/low converter?

hes gonna take it to a shop...I will let you all know what it is when he finds out

If its the kind that has RCA's and a remote wire for outputs, sounds like that's the case.

Does he have the factory HU or an after market HU? If its the factory HU just turn the GAIN down on the amp unitl the BASS goes away, it should not be much.

Gain setting wouldn't be the problem. The amp stays on after the car is off, and there is a signal through the RCA's as well.

If the LOC he's using has both the RCAs and a remote wire, thats the source of the problem.

True, amp should not stay on after car is OFF. Remote needs to be fixed....If you get a loud deep bass after turning the car off for a sec or 2 then the gain is too high.

i have seen this problem before. he needs to run remote line off acc or ign using a relay. otherwise you are sending no signal when car is off so it sounds like a constant 50hz.

i have seen many shops just splice into it in the fuse box which is wrong and shit like this happends.

I usually run the remote through the fuse box splicing from the RADIO fuse or anyother fuse that loses power when the ignition is off. Thats how I have my wifes car right now with no issues at all.

that is wrong, sorry to inform you. a relay is a must.
