Bass plays when car is off!

that is wrong, sorry to inform you. a relay is a must.

Why? Remote loses power when I turn the ignition off. Never had an issue with it when I run it like that.

it is very ghetto practice to see this under the hood.

Mine is inside the car and I have it coming from behind. You can only see the wire if you are looking for it. Ghetto? I think not.

The amp is not shutting off - there is only a couple of possible reasons, 1 the remote wire is constantly seeing voltage with the car off as well, meaning its not hooked up to an accessory/switched 12 v source. Or there is something else in the system storing power. Most likely its the first.

remote, ground and rcas were checked

they installed a noise filter and the problem went away.

Thats got to be the problem then... but you say the remote is not showing voltage when the car is off?
