Bass loss

Do u eventually loose bass on your subs?

2 12inch pioneers, 400wat rms (i think) they have a round dome in the centre of them

800w rms clarion mono

When i go past a certain volume on my headunit the subs dont seem to pump any harder? just seem to vibrate more, should i put up the gain on the amplifier?

Subs are about 3-4 yrs old but still shake the car lol
