Bass knob....gain knob??

[UGHH]

I just ordered a used BRZ1700 off ebay, its on its way. I asked the guy if it came with the bass knob, he didn't answer. I got a good deal so im not worried if it doesn't. I ordered a PAC LC1 from ebay also just in case. Whats the difference between a bass knob that hooks into the remote terminal on the amp and the PAC LC1 that uses the RCAs? I always read to never use the bass knob. What should I use?

You're fine with the LC1. All a bass knob does is attenuate the signal level going to the preamp and that's what the LC1 does.
