I have a big problem i have a jbl gto 1200.1 and 2 12" fosgate p3 500 rms. every time theres a loud bass bump my sound goes out but my amp doesnt turn off or goes to protect mode. im sure everything is hooked up properly. thanks need help!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Are you ABSOLUTELY sure your amp doesnt shut off when this happens? ie are you looking at the amp as the bass hits and it doesnt turn off for even a split second? It doesnt make sense if this is true... monitor your voltage when it happens and see what it is dropping to. Does ALL the bass cut out or only part of the bass.. as in does you sub totally stop working?

subsonic filter, I highly doubt this is the problem so dont worry about it. Its basically a highpass filter some amps have, the effect is to filter out super low frequencies so it doesnt damage the sub in a ported box, but again, dont worry about it,.

All Bass Goes Out. Ive Seen Other Amps Turn Off For About A Second Or They Go Into Protect Mode But My Gto Doesnt Turn Off.... Also It Looks Like Its Drawing Alot Of Power From Battery.... Could It Be The Ground?

maybe when you hit really hard hits your ground moves around there for cuts out the sub...make sure the ground is tight and secure...also make sure its bare metal

happend to me before

I see a couple of possibilities.

Try gounding to a seat bolt or a strut bolt. Something larger than a screw. And as stated, make sure you have good metal to metal contact.

Also check to make sure your electrical system is good. Strong battery, and alt. Possible that when the bass hits hard at high levels, It is useing more power than your electrical can handle and is causing your amp to "starve" causing it to cut out.

Just some thoughts on it.

i was having a similar prblem with my kicker kx1200.1. the amp wouldnt turn off, but the bass would cut out with reeeally loud notes. turns out that the dB boost was way too high. i dont know why that would make the bass cut out, but it did, and after i readjusted it, it stopped cutting out.
