everytime i eneter something in and then go back i swear it gives me something different, it changes stuff up on me when im not looking, i can also eter one thing one time, then come and enter it again i will get something different

meybe im just crazy but im about to throw something out the window:furious:

im trying to design a box for my 2 Mt15s, i keep getting confused on it and the little problems arnt helping

on the interior, volume displaced by port, on the b part where it wants the thickness of the wood for the port, if im doing the port on the side, where the side wall is, would i do the wall thinckness .375?

i hate using this thing...it is about the dumbest thing evar

if anyone wats to help

my deminsions are 19.5 high 36.5W and 31D

(i can do 20 high and i think 31.5 deep if i need a little extra

im trying to get 8 cu ft out of this, each MT take slike .21 or .22 or something, just take off .5 cu ft for both or so

tuning will be ~34hz with sub up port up, so 36.5 wide - 15.5 and 15.5 i get 5.5" to do the port so i was going to do 4.5x29.5"

it would probably be easier to figure out my max deminsions cu ft and then make a port for it and do it that way because BB6> me:crap:

ok box size at

36x19.5x31 1" thick mdf = 9.98 CF

9.98 - .5 (mt's) = 9.48 CF

I dont understand what you plan on using for port width x heiught though

edit ok i noticed 4.5 x 29 ... for port (22.66" long)

So if you use the outside walls for 1 side and the top and bottom the port will take up approx 1.12 CF

so net would be approx 9.48 - 1.12 = 8.36 CF

But now with the port in there it raises the actual tuning to 36 hz

I think i did that right

yea the port is 4.5x29.5

and there are no places ive seen that carry 1" wood around here, so im doing 3/4 and doing double baffle

and why on mine does it say that my port takes up 2.5 cu ft, i swear i have the bugged version

and with a 10.7 cu ft total i enter a port that is 29.5x4.5 and length comes to 22.99 so 23" long

and says it taks up like 2.x cu ft i hate designing boxes...

all you have to do to find how much the port takes away woudl be.

IF you are only using a single port wall (using the top, bottom and outside for the other port walls)

figure it out as a box but adding the 3/4" for the extra board.

5.25 (width including port wall) x 29 x 23 = 2.02 CF

(notice i screwed up in earlier math.. I was rushing through AND im a slow canadian)

now with the box however 3/4" thick it wuld be

36 x 19.25 x 31 = 10.45432 CF

I used 19.25 high so that you can add the second baffle and be 20" high, also that the second baffle woudl just screw my math up if not added on later since it adds nothing to interior size.

10.45432 - 2.02 = 8.43432 CF

okay, i just need to sit down and try to figure out cut sheets and all, actually need everything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

im good at math, i just hate sitting down and doing it

so i have 36.5x19.5x31

then say a 4.5x29.5 port

the port takes up around 2 cubes right? or how much is it using, because 2 cubes seems like alot for a port

here is a i want it to look like

how does it lay the port out?
i need the port up top on the side, i havnt looked at the cuts close yet so i dont know
I think it asks you to build a box out of MDF for your slot port, rather then letting you use the side of the enclosure for the other side... That is where it sucks for slot port designs.

ok port displacement.

add the port actual width + the width of the mdf width, then add the port internal hight + the port length - the port front mdf width. then divide it by 1728 = cuft displacement.

enclosure displacement.

if youre using .75" of mdf then substract double that from the width x higth x depth. divide by 1728 to give you the cuft. then substract the port displacement and the sub displacement to get your overall cuft. gross, net what ever. thats what your sub will see.
