Bass Boost Question

I have a bass remote for my amp and circuit city never installed it but i was wondering what the bass boost does? Does it boost the gain? (0-12dB @ 50 hertz is the bass boost)

it adds distortion. Don't use it unless you want a toasted amp.

its dirty, lol um yea u dont wana use any bass boost u wana send as much clean power to your subs.

ok cool thats probably why they never installed it because right now the sub sounds great w/o the bass boost

lol shhhh Death by Bass im not trying to blow the sub i just got it installed today and had to wait 8 hours lol
