Bass Boost On Subwoofers

hi i have 2 audiobahn alum 10 inch sub woofers in a sealed box. Running off a 1500 watt mono block amp. I was wondering what the bass boost should be set around to have clear but yet loud bass? Any info would be great. Thx

Try it without bass boost, it will be a lot cleaner.

dont ask other ppl where to set it...listen to it urself and decide what sounds the best without distorting ur speakers.

i imagine the originator of this post has prolly long since figured out his bass boost problems.

Check the dates and/or try to keep your specific problem in your post. No reason to hi-jack others.

I'd highly recommend no bass boost at all. Bass boost is a great way to reduce dynamic range and increase distortion, and honestly has little tangible benefit.

If you want exaggerated, inaccurate bass, you might love bass boost, if you prefer accuracy, you'll likely never set it to a positive value, ever.

i agree 100% but sometimes people search and then forget they clicked an old thread before posting in it. i know i hardly ever check the dates on posts.

use bass boost if u want it will give u more bass and ur bass will be more boomy if use it and the bass will be alot lower if u use it too. just use it with caution. just my 2 cents

It gives you more output in a range of frequencies, and realistically LIMITS power to frequencies outside the boosted region, because after all, your amplifier only produces X amount of watts. Bass boost does NOT increase output across the board, it just makes peakier response in a small region, at the cost of maximum linear output in the surrounding regions.

If you want to make your music sound like shit, by all means, use bass boost.
