bass blockers

Just bought some bass blockers for my 6x9's. Said to connect on possitive wire. How can I tell which is possitive my speakers have 4 wires connected to them. 2 on each side.

What color are the wires?

Are these aftermarket or stock speakers?

They are stock, colors are Left, green/black, blue/white, yellow, brown.

The right colors are green, grey/black, blue, grey.

I have subs so I don't need the extra bass and they sound really bad when my stereo is turned up half way because they bottom out. Going to replace them when I get the extra cash but i settled on 200 Hz bass blockers till then.

What kinda car is this? Kinda sounds like the speakers have separate leads for woofer and tweeter(assuming they are coaxial).

it doesnt matter what wire you put them on, its alternating current, the actual positive wire switches many times per second....

Its a pontiac grand prix. But there are 4 wires and they all go into the speakers (4 on each speaker) and they don't go to anything else no tweeters or subs. How can I tell which wires are possitive and which are neg.

I meant the woofer and tweeter on the 6x9 itself, sorry for the confusion. If you don't want to try just splicing it in one of them without knowing exactly then you might want to find a GP forum, they're popular cars it shouldn't be too hard. If I was to take a guess I'd say try the green wire on the right and the blue/white on the left, just guessing from past GM experiences.

Whatever you do DON'T CUT the GREEN OR BLUE wire!!!!

Remove the wire(s) from either terminal and hook the bass blocker between those wires and the terminal they went to.

IF you look on the HU or do a quik internet search you should be able to find it.

Im going to say that since its a GM, it has seperate amps powering each speaker.Two of those wires are power and ground. The other two are signal wires.
