bass blockers or get an amp?

okay, duh, i know, the obvious solution for my full ranges is to buy a nice amp, power them from that, and set the x-overs. however, is there any value in some bass blockers for my front Sony 6.5"s?

i'm putting my subs in on Friday (still waiting for the dang enclosure!). i know that the fronts aren't going to compete with my 2 12s, especially 'cause they're each getting about 17w from the HU. sending them that extra bass is not going to help with distortion any, either.

will bass blockers be worth the $10, until i get an amp? or will they not make too much difference, and i'd be better off just dealing with the lower volume until i get an amp? (like a CA440 from Profile).

Just deal with the distortion awhile. A couple weeks or even months wait to test it out before you do something about it isn't along time to wait for nirvana, unless you bought some incredibly loud 12's. Afterall, ten bucks can buy alot of Ramen noodles.
