Basic wiring guage questions

OK. Please bear with me as this is my first install ever and i might have stupid questions. I bought an all new system,

Subwoofers / Power

2 Polk Audio 12” MM2124 Subs

1 Polk Audio C500.1 Monoblock Amp

Speakers / Power

Polk Audio 5” dB501 Coaxial Speakers

Audiobahn 3.5” AS31Q Coaxial Speakers

1 Polk Audio C400.1 4/3/2 Channel Amp

Headunit

Clarion VRX775VD

Clarion CCA-673 iPod Connecting Cable

My question -

I am running 4guage power and ground wire.

I am getting shielded RCAs for the amps to the headunit.

What gauge wire do i run for the doors?

What gauge wire do i run for the subs?

What is a compacitor and i do i need one?

Am i missing anything?

i would say 12-14 gauge for the speakers, and from what i've learned around here....you don't need a capacitor, they are useless.

from what it looks like u wouldnt need a cap. Just make sure u have a decent battery.
