Basic "How to" guide....

Looking for a basic how to guide on installing remote starts/keyless and secuirty.

I've dipped my foot into almost everything, I just want to understand how to install starts/keyless and secuirty, before I start working at this shop installing. He did tell me he would show me how, but it would be better if I go in knowing more then he thinks.
