Bang for Buck - 500$

Not familiar with American bass. Really put out numbers that match the claims? Again it's on a budget so stock electrical w/ a yellow top.
if you want some good budget bang, kenwood 3013ps or kenwood exceleon xw12s and a fosgate 500... surprised me... and thats whats in that signature video 4 of those kenwoods on a zrx2000d total cost under 400

I have 8 xfl 12"s walled in my f150 on 4 crescendo bc3500's and I do a 156.1@39hz and a 155.0@31hz, xfl's are by far the best sub under $200 right now

You can't go wrong with the 500/1 for 180$ ish. It's a ballsy little amp and will hold terrific resale value. I'd search the classifieds here before buying subs from a big box store though, likely there's even something local for sale with a box that's made properly.

Didn't take much convincing to step away from a pair of kickers =D Figured it would spark some good replies though.

I want some 10's or something small for punchy, tight hit type bass.

What about two XFL 1044's and a SOUNDSTREAM STL1.1200D.

I realize it's a bit less power than they would want but it leaves room in the budget for a matching SOUNDSTREAM STL4.320 320W while keeping it relatively close to tolerable on my stock electrical. Maybe add a second yellow top in the trunk and that's it. Hell maybe if it works good enough match up a second 1200D later.

Anyone want to give some box suggestions? I'm sure ported will yield the loudest but will that kill the hit?

12's will sound just as good. So will 15's, in the right box. If you're stuck on 10's because of the sound they make... don't. Go off what you can fit comfortably.

XFL 12s, or c2 audio 12's. For budget subs that pack a punch.

Ok I've thought on this a week or two, browsed and learned just enough to know I don't know everything.

Here's where I'm thinking of going with this:

XFL 12

Hifonics 1100 brutus

4th order built tight on the lows and small on the ported with a high hz tune.

^should leave a strong peak low with a really broad double camel hump on the graph.

Built well it should hold the lows really well and have a very punchy broad band still out of the ported section.

^Any complaints, thoughts, input, cokcwaving, bragging, advice..?

The only problem I have with this so far is... what are the box recommendation sizes for sealed for a XFL 12?
