BAMF OR DEMON Amp

ok but if i get the bamf 5500, it says it puts out 1700 rms at 4 ohms. my spg can only handle 1000 so how can i set it with a dmm to set the gain correctly?
there is some equation for it but i use a site that calcs it for you. ill try and find it for you.

when you get a 5500 want to send it over this way so I can do some clamp tests on it?
lol i dont want to pay to ship it out. plus they wont be mine yet. my friend has them and his truck is messed up so hes gonna let me use them. ill ask if he wants to ship them your way lol. i mean i can clamp and up load pics of the clamp results

I just like to have "in house" results on our "perfect world" test bench so no one can complain about lack of voltage or rise or anything. Plus we spare no expense on our testing toys lol.....again for those that question any and all tests.

voltage = sqrt( watts X ohms)

1000 watt rms @ 4 ohm

voltage= sqrt(1000x4)

v=sqrt(4000)

v=63.25 (This will need to be clean power)

To add, you will need to choose a test tone that is similar in output as the music you listen to i.e. -5db or -10db. You also need to find at what freq is the highest and lowest imp rise and choose a freq in between those as a compromise for daily us. Usually, if the enclosure is ported, you want to choose a freq thats between port and peak freq for daily, so your subs get the best power from the amp. You set too high and you will suffer clipping, set too low and you will suffer with low output from the amp.

yea i see. but like i said id have to ask him

go Gothic or bamf series the demon series has a frequency response that starts at 50hz. i think gothic starts at 10 or 15 and i know bamf 15 but i say spend 25 more dollars and get u lanzar opti2000d it will put out 1600 at 1 ohm. just make sure u get a 200d and not the newer model 2001d, i had a staxxx 5500d it was loud as hell but wouldnt get low for me, mightve been the amp mightve been the mofos who knows
