by the way they are not just "sh1t". they just may not be better then other amps. no they will not put out rated 3200rms @ 14.4, but will do it at 16v. BUT they will put out up to 2.2k - 2.5k @ 14.4 if you have a decent electrical and minimal rise. im about to do some testing with 2 bamf/5500's strapped myself just because. so im looking for a easy 3.5k to 4k.

dont turn the gain to far up. it will only put out what you set it to. set it with a dmm(multimeter) to the power you are needing and you will have power to spare if you upgrade subs.

Pick up something else would be my suggestion. Many other options out there that will do a far better job. bgowdy31 gives them far to much credit.

Pick up something else would be my suggestion. Many other options out there that will do a far better job. bgowdy31 gives them far to much credit.

lol im not trying to give them alot of credit becaue i know they are not close to being a great amp. im just going from the what ive seen and experienced with them. i dont think they are sh1t, but everyone trashes them. but 230 for the amount of power is not bad to me, but maybe its just me tho lol. hell audiopipe is cheap sh1t to but everyone is crazy about it because it does what they rate it at 14.4v. power acoustik rates theirs at 16v and will actually do 3.2k @ 16v, but can do up to 2.5k @ 14.4....

when you get a 5500 want to send it over this way so I can do some clamp tests on it?

ok but if i get the bamf 5500, it says it puts out 1700 rms at 4 ohms. my spg can only handle 1000 so how can i set it with a dmm to set the gain correctly?
