Balanced or Unbalanced?

I have a new 2009 Memphis 16.MC5.1400 "Memphis Belle" Amplifier. It has a switch for Unbalanced or Balanced line input. I'm not sure what this means or what I should set it on. I'm running 2 - 12" Memphis M3 subs and Polk Audio Mobile Monitor highs & mids. Can someone let me know what I should do? Thanks

Balanced inputs take the place of RCA inputs. They are only an advantage

if you run the line driver up front instead of RCA's. Some eq's may have the balanced

line driver built in. I would not necessarily see any gain by running a small box line driver

converter close to the amp after a long RCA run.

If you go balanced from very close to the head unit, all the way out to your amps

on all your stages (low mid-high) there should be a clear advantage over standard RCA

line level setup.

I would say going balanced is one of the few things you can do that will make a difference.

Way more than people who spend an extra $30 ++ more than they need to on RCA

cables.
