but they get so loud! my mirrors even shake a little when it hits. its the loudest sub you can buy. the guy at walmart told me so....

idk man... those kicker comp 10's at best buy can hit 160 db's in a .5 cubed box.... atleast thats what the guy at best buy told me

nonono, the guy at bestbuy told me 170.1 with the dual 15" kicker comps in their prefab box. Man theres an ad on craigslist as well to verify! lol

ok guys... trying to figure out my box design for sure... i dont want to go with just a straight wall... want to do something a lil different... so here are the three designs i can think of so far... these are VERY rough... so please, dont flame about correct size this and that, just trying to figure out the general design... then i'm goin to have ryan (aka ramdesigns) do the design for me. (just cuz hes so dam good at it, lol) ... which one do you guys like best?

quick update... got the entire back stripped and ready for the new setup... just a few pics and walk a round, before i start the build

what i have so far for the build... not much... but most everything will be getting ordered this weekend...

so far, just have: 2 of the aq's, 2 fosgate 8's, and batts (will prolly run a bank of 6 red tops until i can upgrade to dekas or xs, cuz i get the red tops for free) ... the PR's are for the wifey's build

still to come... 2 more aq's (one being ordered from cheesburger this weekend, still looking for the fourth), 2 modded aq 2200d's (modded to run 2550 at 1 ohm), 4 6.5 components (those i'm still trying to decide on), android tablet (either a toshiba thrive, or galaxy 8.9...neither are released yet), component and mid amps, etc...

and of course, i had to do a vid walk around, lol

ok guys... so i made up my mind on the design... and made a final design (well rough final... ryan at ramdesigns is going to check it over and do the finishing touches)

dual chamber (one for each pair of subs)... each chamber is roughly 10.4 cubed.... tuned to 42hz .... the sides, top and bottom are going to have a 2x4 frame built around them to re-inforce them, for flex issues, so they are only going to be 3/4" mdf... the sub baffles and all other walls will be doubled up to 1.5" of mdf. wish i could have gotten more cubes out of it... but with the interior of my truck, this was the best i could get.

ok guys... update for the day... not much to show for a whole day of work... mainly cuz i spent the majority of the day tearing out the rest of the interior... but here's what i got so far

pulled the door panels off

old memphis 6.5's ... great speakers, so i might find a use for them

and, of course the video update of the day



more to come tomorrow... hoping to get the entire dash re-covered tomorrow... but we'll see how it goes
