Baddest 4x6's out there

I know it isn't a very good speaker to work with but a guy in another thread with a Cavalier showed me that 6.5's are a ***** to fit without a crazy install so I am leaning towards just replacing what is there with the best 4x6 that can be installed there. Who makes them?

Get some 4x6 plates if you must use 4x6's...

I agree, ide do some cutting to fit a larger speaker, but if you must, the polk mmc460s do well.

The problem from what I can see is the area to the back where it would contact the glass. Don't want it to be ghetto so I will look into plates. Any suggestions?

The polks i suggested are a 4inch driver, with the tweeter mounted above it in the 4x6 plate.

The best 4x6 are made by infinity and are 2ohm. I was gonna use them but modded my rear doors to fit 6.5's

seriously, if you dont want to but these plates my boys are pimpin do what I do... Outline the original speaker on a piece of wood/metal (whatever your means allow) go buy a decent set of mid/tweet drivers, and make your own plate. I had to do this due to lack of funds to afford the pre-builts and I really like ho mine turned out. I beveled the mounts so I could actually aim the drivers...hence...better imaging then you would ever imagine with anything stock like a 'pos' 4x6. ---by the way... I hate 6 x 9's also! LOL!

All the reviews on those Polk's look good. I did read on Crutchfield that the Infinity set may lag a little. Both start out in the 70 Khz range but the sensitivity is higher on the Infinitys. Not sure what year Cavalier you are dealing with but a few years back I did an install in one and I simply used a 4x6 to 6.5 adapter kit......this was also in the front doors.....
