bad to hook up to home stereo?

I don't know. But there is a sub in it with a sealed box and it gets pretty loud. It's a 10 I believe.
it def. wont be enough power! most home stereos with powered sub boxes only put out `100-200 rms and most of the time are capable to handle only an 8 or 4 ohm load nothing lower

gat a decent plate amp to power the w7 like this one http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=300-808

and a good ht box designed up for it and it will get so **** loud! also your gona want some speakers that will be up to par to keep up with the bass //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Not to mention the box wouldn't be designed for it.

It's a bad idea to do a direct swap.

You need an old school amp >.> My Sony STR-V6, I ran that thing at 1 ohm, and it kept going. And it was rated for 8 ohms >.>

You'll need a higher powered HT amplifier, and a properly designed box, before you even consider it.

Doing it now, you'd end up killing the sub due to massive clipping.
