Bad sound!

Hello everyone, and thanks for any help!

Here’s the deal. My speakers sound like they are blown. They are distorted. But it’s not consistent. Sometimes it’s on the left, other times it’s on the right. In hot weather they usually work just fine. It is the worst in cold weather.

Is it my speakers, the deck, just a connection?

Any help would be appreciated!

Probably need to be more specific. Ususally when speakers are blown, there is little doubt.

Well since the speakers work some of the time could it be the deck or the connections? Sorry I don't have more info, what do you need to know?

I am just hoping to get it repaired with out getting ripped off!

this guy came to me wit something similar. he had his tweeters in his air ducts where his a/c and heat came out when it was hot he would turn the a/c on and wen cold he turn the heat on all that change in temp. caused condensation and shorted all his tweeters. it looked nice but hey. lol ok now back to ur problem. check your connections are you connection with crimp caps? they usually come loose after a while i like to solder all my connections then shrink tube it.

Rip out the deck, run all new speaker wires, and check the speakers then. Are they factory speakers?...If so, replace them!

If you use an amp and it only happens when you have it loud I would check you amp settings to make sure they are correct and theres no clipping.

I think it is all stock. I will check the connections this weekend.

Oh yeah, and it never happens to the rear speakers!! If that is a clue.

is it stock hu if it's stock hu or a hu with low wattage it can distort because i had my stock hu for like a couple months and it distorted bad i barely listened to the radio and then i replaced it with a kenwood hu and it's a night and day change it was also like that for my uncle i just put his new hu like two nights ago dont distort any more
