Ben from Elemental Designs. I thought that we got along great. "Friends" even. Well about 3 months ago I ordered Edead. Lots of edead a total of 120 ft various v1 and v2. I called up ben personally at eD and talked to him said he would give a little bit of deal. I said great but i need it second day air for a show my co-worker and I were going to attend. Ok done deal right? no. I wait for the 2 day air shippment it never came in. So i call the following monday after the show. Oh there was a mistake in taking down the credit card number. Ok understandable. But dont you think that if a sale was made and something got misscomunicated that someone would have called me back?. Maybe he didnt have my number. But he had my address of the shop i work at and he could have looked that up via google. Ok so I ask him to go ahead and ship it anyway. Ok done deal. 2 weeks later still no show. We call back. Ben is busy. Not unlikly. So we leave a message. Actually we leave 3 messages total in a period of 3 days. Still no call of curtiousy or anything. So i let time go on and time go on. We still need this stuff. After several attemps of getting ahold of ben and everytime he's busy. Its starting to become a fishy story. So one day as i am browsing and post on the forums I see been posting and browsing the general forum. So i think HEY he cant be busy. I call him up and guess what. HE'S BUSY. So now i belive he is just playing me off. Still now 3 months later not a single call from ben or Elemental and no eDead. Do i still want it? NO I will find another Alternative. I just wanted to express my bad dealing with eD.

Take it for a lot of with a grain of salt.

For me I will never order from that company ever again.

Sorry to hear about your bad dealing with eD, Scott. Maybe Ben will see this on this message board or some other one and patch the problem up. Wonder what his side of the story is, as there's always two. Anyways, I really do hope everything works out well for you over this matter.

EDIT ~ On another note, it's funny subscribing to the same thread at SIN, and refreshing every minute, and what do ya know, there's about 3 new posts every time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

hey, ed is a good company, and im sure ebeything will get worked out in your favor but.....

I got some edead and it BLOWS. It does not stick to anything and does not really do anything. You get what you pay for, just go with dynamat, even if you can only get 1/4 of the amount, it will do more.

you are an idiot. dynamat will not do more with less simple fact of math. edead is decent just isn't as flexible with heat as dynamat is. for me, it's rather easy to install any kind of deadener living in TX even on the coldest days if i leave the car in the garage for 1hr it's nice and 80 degrees:D.

adam

p.s.- on a side note it sucks man

Have you tried edead AND dynamat extreme. I'll be you 36 sq ft of that dynamat will do just as much, if not more then a roll (i think its like 100sq ft) of edead. When I got my edead from ed, it had no stick to it at all. Dynamat will stick to anything, plus its thicker, easy to install, looks better and does not smell at all. I tried installing each product in diffrent ways. Without a heat gun, in about 50deg weather with it raining, dynamat sticks fine, edead did not stick at all. Laying it out in the sun for an hour, edead would stick to a flat surface, but thats about it, plus it would smell like tar, dynamat became very flexable and would stick anywhere. With a heat gun, dynamat did not melt, and it stuck to anything, edead melted right away in goop then once hard, did not stick and fell off....

dynamat > edead anyday

Its a shame to see what SIN has become........Its along ways off of carstereos.org that first started it all.

i've used both and i will take that bet in a second. i'm sorry but no way in hell can 36sq ft work better than 100sq ft when i got edead to stick. now i use dynamat b/c i used to get it for about 50 bucks for 40 sq ft. currently i have 25sq ft per door and about 30sq ft in my roof/floor bed. i need another 30ft for the front section of my roof and then my car will be done. edead worked for me on a 80 degree day and stuck just fine and is still in the car to this day working perfectly fine.

I'd recommend second skin over dynamat any day, just because it' so much cheaper and essentially does the same thing.
In Andrew's car we had dyna extreme and we had installed it.Worked OK, rattled still. Then we took it all off(OMFG SO GAY TO DO) and we installed STFU-80 and it molded to the contours so much better, seemed to have less rattles, and does not smell at all, plus it was cheaper.

SecondSkin>Dynamat Extreme anyday.

I never posted at SIN much, the people there seem to be off in their own little world, and that thread just proves it. "Your CC was never billed, therefore it was not a sale, therefore nothing wrong happened and you should shut up" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Quite sad eD is heading the 'shocker custmomer service way', if the abve story IS 100% true.

on the subject of dynamat - i have tried many things in my time including -

1. marley sealing flash tape

2. dynamat regular

3. dynamat extreme

4. brown bread sound deadening

5. prototype sound deadening made by a buddy

out of all of it, all i can say is u get what u pay 4. dynamat extreme really is the best, even if it is the most expensive.

hey lets get something positive from this thread

Scott...get a hold of Ant....SecondSkin is definatly an awesome product....and i am sure his prices won't be far off from your 'deal' with ED

Just my opinion, but all of the fourms have gone just a little downhill. Maybe it's just the holidays, I don't know - but hopefully the forums, and this one especially, 'come back to life'.

I wasn't at SIN for the start, so I can't comment on that. I do browse it daily, however ... gay ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
