Bad RCA's

I just hooked up a couple subs to wires that have been in my car for a couple of years. The amp turns on fine and gets power just no sound out of the subwoofers any suggestions?

if the amp powers on, then it must be input signal to the amp (rca's, hu) or output side (amp output channel, wires to subs, subs themselves)

We wired the subs up to two amps and they still didnt work but we hooked it up in a friends car and it worked fine
