bad rca outputs?

Ive recently discovered that the low rca outputs on my cd7000 are bad. They deliver a signal but a very very weak one. Is my only option to buy a new headunit? Everything else works fine on it so if its possible for me to fix this, i would prefer to do that.

get a DMM and put the leads on one of the outs on the rca and the other on the casing of the HU, you should get a reading under 1 ohm.

how would i check to see if the outputs are bad (besides plugging them into an amp)
