i recently purchased a profile ap1200 amp ,which at low to moderate volumes burnt my old mtx sub ,then today i installed my brand new kicker comp 10"and it started to smell and get really hot . i called kicker they told me to check my amp for dc current and sure enough the channel that was messed up shawed dc the other none .i took the kicker connected it to the other channel everything fine.luckily i purchased from an authorized dealer they will replace the amp but profile wont do anything about the subs .i was told this is normal in this industry ,is that true?

yes, unfortunately, the almighty bottom line typically makes that the case. They decide that its yer responsibility to test both channels for dc current before hooking any subs up to it, although that is a lil bogus.
