Sh!t i should open up a car audio shop. Man they make dough off of people. reminds me of geek squad and computers. LOL. But on a helpful tip, read up. Do it yourself. the shop used the illumination wire as a ground probably. it happens a lot, and something i had to fix. it is an easy fix..

This is by far my favorite response.

He didn't because he didn't *shrug*

A. He doesn't know how and didn't want to learn or

B. He just doesn't have the time.

Honestly, I know how to install a cd player in a car but I always pay to have it done. Why? Because my time is worth more than the price I have to pay to get it installed. Now the rest of it I do because I enjoy doing it, but F the cd player.

To the OP. Take it back to the guy, show him the problem (don't be a jerk because it could be a dozen different things). Explain you are not satisfied with the job and need it to be corrected.

I'm sure he will be cool about it.

Lot's of places around here will install for free if the deck's over a certain price. Decks are the only thing I get installed, and if somethings done wrong they have to fix it for free anyways so who cares.

So i went to the shop today and they guy said out of 5 thousand radios he installed this is the first time he seen a speaker wire was touching illumination wire
