Bad gas mileage

OP - you've got some great advice in the thread so far, and mine is pretty much a recap:

1. Air Filter

2. Fuel Filter

3. PCV Valve

4. Plugs, Cap, Rotor, and possibly wires

5. Avoid Ethanol gas at all costs! It's usually a money saver over the long haul to use slightly more expensive non-ethanol fuels due to the better fuel mileage.

Here in Nebraska, our mid-grade 89 octane rated fuel contains up to 10% ethanol. The regular 87 and premium 91 does not. After using all three grades in my Versa, here's what I've figured:

Miles per month: 975

Gallons per fill: 10

Mid-Grade 89 w/ 10% Ethanol - $3.35

> 23 MPG Avg

> 4.24 Tanks

> $142.04 / month

Regular 87 - $3.45

> 25 MPG Avg

> 3.9 Tanks

> $134.55 / month

Premium 91 - $3.59

> 26.5 MPG Avg

> 3.68 Tanks

> $132.08 / month

My car sees about 95% city driving, and that's mostly rush hour stop and go traffic.

It's a good filter. I prefer Wix since it's just as good and only cost 7 bucks.
Doesn't Wix make the filters and rebrand them for other companies like Motorcraft and Goodwrench? I recall reading that somewhere, but can't remember the parent company. Maybe it was Hastings filters. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Regardless, I use Wix whenever I can. Great filters, imo.
