my brother just got hs car recently and he has all kenwood door speakers and rear deck speaks all runn off a mtx thunder 4254 (i think) but he has a ground isolater hooked up and everything, but everything you step on the gas it whines thru the door speakers, i cant figure it out. Its my uncles old car, and its been doing that for a few years. any suggestions on what i should do?

I had my speakers doing the same thing when I didn't have my HU installed and just after I put my new speakers in... It was really weird... Put my HU in and never heard it again (even without music the speaker whine noise stopped). I doubt that helped you tho...

Step 1: take out the ground isolator.

Step 2: test each connection.

Remove the RCAs from the head unit and see if the ground whine is still there. If it is, remove the RCAs from the amp (yes, this is different from removing them from the head unit). If the whine is gone when you remove the RCAs from the head unit, disconnect the antenna from the head unit. If the whine stops with the RCAs connected, the problem is in your antenna and you will need to replace it. If you've gone this far, the problem is in the amp or after the amp. To test the hypothesis, redo the ground for the amp. You'll want to find BARE METAL or better yet, drill a completely new hole and bolt down the ground wires there. Seal off the hole with silicon (under carpet of course). If the wine is still there, remove one speaker at a time.

A ground isolater is not going to solve a problem with a bad ground, it will help smooth out the flow of the DC current only. The only way to remove the whine is to find where it is coming from and fix it.

maybe the ground in the head unit is bad. or maybe you have a bad rca. or maybe its the amp, or maybe a bad connection. i would start by dropping in a h/u. if it stops the whine, you found your problem, if not, the h/u is eliminated.

its more than likely rcas, but if i dissconnect the rcas, it'll have no sound because the amp is for the doors and the rear deck speakers
You disconnect the RCAs momentarily just to find out where the noise is starting, once you determine that plug them back in.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/spank.gif.0d78e34d42ea8780359e903aeb6697d6.gif Its more likely to be a bad ground on the HU or amp than the RCAs though(going by the # of threads on this board about this very problem).
