i recently installed some infinity 6x8's in the back of my truck. They sound good, but have really weak bass. I got them new... I was sort of reading about this sort of issue, and is there some sort of gell i put on the wire? ha i might sound crazy. But yeah, wired them fine, but just reallly really weak bass. either the speakers ****, which i doubt because they're infinity and new, or i did something wr0ng.

yeah im not looking for those to be my main source of bass. The fact that there wasnt any bass at all was bothering me, but if its just the amp then thats good. Thank you.

Are these reference's or kappa's? They'll both sound much much better amped, but the reference's won't have the low's kappa's do. While the kappa's can actually put out an impressive amount of bass down to about 60hz, high pass em @ about 80-100 depending on where you LP your sub.

Also you might need to dampen the mounting location.

What type of enclosure/mounting location are they in? I'd suggest putting baffles behind them.
I couldn't imagine the kappa's needing a baffle to get some midbass out of them, but you never know I guess

I wanna know what this gel is???

I have 4 kappas that i'm about to be installing in my dad's truck. Best 40 bucks i ever spent. Got both pairs for 40 bucks because the swivel tweets had come unglued from the platform. They sound great if you like bright tweets. Every time i have ran them i have had to turn the treble to like -2 or -3. LOL

Ya, they get ear piercing loud with no distortion lol. I got a pair once for free, ebay seller listed as new, got them and they were pretty much new except the box was all jacked up and the xover was ripped from the speaker, told the guy bout it and he jus immediately said keep em and gave me refund //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've seen a lot of people have problems like this, not saying a baffle will fix it every time.
