bad bad bad

nothing is wrong with the inside...everything LOOKS fine but my power supply has shorted out...can you really mess up an amp from disconnecting the ground while the engine is running?

yes i did...

i had a Kicker300.1 and i was just switching them out and changing the fuse/fuseholder and when i was done the amp had its red light on which meant something was wrong and i had an expensive brain fart and started messing with the ground and forgot my truck was on...i just wanted it to work!

so what probably happened when i did that?

Its hard to say what went bad. If I had to guess, I'd say the mosfets in the powersupply. Take the cover off it and takes some pics of it. If you saw sparks then there should be some burn damage around the trouble area.

Next time when you install with the battery still attached, try putting both the ground wire and positive wire in your mouth. That will end all your amp blowing problems, well and your heart. Seriously... Don't do it.
