So i took my front and rears and hu and amp to get installed the other day all wires run yada yada just finishing up install and he had to fine tune the amp and set the gains and what not. He goes to do that and tehre is terrible engine noise.

Everything he does he cant get rid of it. he can reduce it and it would be very nominal in the rears but the front speakers had terrible engine noise.

He told me my amp was bad and that i needed to return it. I purchased it online from millionbuy.com. Is the amp really bad? and do they make u pay ur own shipping to return a bad product to an online store? Because if they do thats rediculous....

Fix the ground on the amplifier to a better ground. Make sure its grounded as short as possible to BARE metal. Second check your head-unit ground also. Make sure if it's grounded to the factory ground, try to re-ground it to the chassis. Check your RCA's also. There could be many different problems just for alternator whine.

Ok I will give these a shot thanks. He did say somethign about a possible poor ground up in the engine somewhere. but i dont think he ever looked at it. thx guys
