ok a few days ago, my belt had poped off and the pully on the alternator was kinda messed up
took it into a shop and the guy tells me that the alternator is going bad, so my dads gonna buy me a new one (horray finally something good!) but for now i can still run the car in its current condition.... we manged to get the belt back on there and this mornin i decided to expirement a little bit
i took an somewhat old sony headunit that only has fm/tape player, and i connected it to the buick wire harness and to my suprise the thing turns right on! so now im thinking the alpine i had baught was broken to begin with... so to prove this i hooked it up also and boom the thing turns right on! so now im like what the **** is going on! this thing gave me such a freakin headache and now it purrs like a kitten?! so to see if it WAS the alternator, i turn the car over to battery (the first click in ignition) nothing happens when usually the radio should be on, i turn it over to start it and the radio comes on
so i think i found out the decks are being run off of the barely surviving alternator? why do they work now but they dident a week ago when i was about to murder someone in fustration? hey im glad there working and all but **** i wish they would've hurried up (im about to go outside with a cd and test the alpine to make sure it plays it)
