back to the drawing board... and finding a new sub(s)

unfortunately, my 96 stang was totaled. i had the box built ready to go in with a Kicker 15" L7.

now i have a 1996 Firebird Formula (LT1, T-56) and sub space is extremely limited, so i am looking for new ideas for a sub setup.

i think i am going to build a box to go in the rear storage area, which is way smaller than i planned on going with.

i already have the amps i am going to run. Hifonics Brutus Mono amp (1400RMS @2ohm) and my matching 4 channel (110RMSx4).

i am thinking either running 2 kicker 10" CVX's in a sealed box (600 RMS each), or entertaining the possibility of inversely mounting a 15" CVX and could probably get enough cubes to go ported.

or maybe a 10" Solo X ported inversly mounted (i know they are really unpopular here, but i have heard one and it sounded decent).

i am staying kicker because i can get thier stuff really cheap from a friend...

any ideas?

due to limited space, how about 2 stereo integritys new BM's or MAGs? both shallow mount, both designed with small sealed enclosures in mind, and both with GREAT reputation for output and SQ

the mag's are a little high in price, and the BM's dont have the power handeling i want.

at that rate, i could throw my planet audio 12's (500 RMS) in and wouldnt really be any different.

do you think that there would be any good kicker options?

Why not stick with the original plan of the 15" L7?

I had a LT1 Z28 with a L5 in it about 6-7 years ago and it did wonderful. There is also a guy here in town with a DD 9515 in his formula that is doing just fine.

One of my former employees at my old job had a LS1 Z28 with two 12" Memphis M class subwoofers in it. He put them where the useless back seats used to be pointing towards the glass. I don't know if yanking out your back seat is an option or not?

I was going to suggest the new SI Mag as well. Shallow mounting depth, optimized for 1 ft^3 sealed boxes, and have plenty of output while still sounding great. 2 of those for $500 or so is a pretty fair deal I think.

rear seat is coming out for sure (doing rear seat delete if i dont put the box there).

the si mags arent really expensive, but still a little more than i would want to budget at this point. i would need two to so i could run 2 ohms.

any ideas thinking about a possible way for the 15" L7 to go in???

I have four 12" Kicker Comp CVRs D4's....you should buy them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
i will pass on those... lol. no way of getting those in there and i absolutly hate the SQ of those subs.
