Back panel rattle...how do I fix this?!

I have an O4 Corolla with 2 12s in the trunk. My system sounds good, except for the panel behind the rear seats, which rattles like crazy, making the bass sound terrible. If someone's sitting in the back seat and rests their arm on the panel, it stops and sounds fine. So what can I do to fix this. Obviously some kind of weight would do the trick, but I can't think of a way to secure something heavy to it that wouldn't go flying if I slammed on my breaks. Is there a way to take the panel off and put something underneath? Please help! I just want clean bass! Thanks in advance!

i have to say that you new guys are fkn lazy with no sense of try. how about a layer or 2 of dynamat or something? besides me doing if for you, figure it out.
deadener's a waste of money when it comes to body and rear deck panel rattles and it doesn't even work still rattles like a woodpecker mauling a tin trash can, I did it to my old 03 corolla and it made sh*t for difference. Closed cell foam used as a decoupler work 1000x better and is way cheaper. However the best thing that totally kills the rear deck rattles is taking out the rear deck panel completely and doing a carpet look.

LOL cold but a little true.. Try some sound deadener.

Jeff you did it wrong. Your supposed to use 3 applications. Deadener, closed cell foam, and then mass loaded vinyl.

To stop the vibrations properly deadener and closed cell foam should be used.

Deadener lowers the frequency of the panel in 2 ways. 1 is by adding mass. The Second is the butyl layer converts the vibrations to heat and dissipates via the aluminum layer. This is why peel and seal doesnt work very well. It doesnt have a butyl layer to convert the vibrations into another form of energy. Once that is complete then the closed cell foam will put pressure on the offending panel and prevent it from rubbing against other panels.

Thats exactly what i did but you underestimate how cheap corolla panels are. I used audiotechnix 80 mill, a layer on the panel itself and the others on the rear deck along with closed cell foam. Only thing i did not do was the mass loaded vinyl but by then, it was just cheaper to take the whole **** thing out and do a clean carpet look and i can always put back the panel on when i need to sell the car. I probably would have better results using damplifier pro or tantric gatorskin but price point's not worth it.

Deadener is a good place to start always I had the issue with my 2001 Alero and the Stinger expert fixed it for me. I agree though that some cars differ and a stepped approach is wise. Start with one work your way up not super expensive for such a small area.
