Hey im trying to think creatively about how to make this work out best. i have a 2000 (old) chevy silverado ext cab truck. My first thought was just to take out the back seat and build a platform, and have the sub boxes on there, and build an attractive and efficient amp "rack" type thing. but then i was checkin out a bunch of other builds, and some people mound subs on the back wall of the cab, behind the back seats. (whether ext or single cab) and they have the box portion of the subs in the bed of the truck, under a tool box or however else.

Im pretty handy, and know how to use tools and can get my hands on whatever i need to do the job. How should i approach this build? or would it just be stupid, and probably sound bad, and be a waste of time?

thanks

kyle

ps. the subs ive been looking into are 2 hdc3 15's AQ. but im down for changing the plan

its called a blow through. I'm currently doing one in my Ranger. Unless you have a lot of spare time, don't start that. Or if you can someone to do all the work, that works too.

take out the backseats, make a t-line, a folded horn, maybe even a hybrid, hell even a basic ported box would be wowing. the cab of a truck is small, less voume to fill = easier pressure build up.

yeah i already took the seats out, and just built this platform to level it off. i have the box dimentions ( building 2 separate boxes, one behind each seat, with batt, and amps in the middle of the 2 subs. ) up firing subs and port

Ablow through would look sound amazing but as mentioned, the time, effort and depreciation involved in it isn't really worth the payout unless you're putting showstoppin stuff in there (i.e. an entire truck bed full of subs or jackhammers etc) so building a clean, efficient ported box with you amp rack in the middle will sound and look the best. believe me i know the blowout is tempting and would be cool. but honestly are you going to use the bed or the seats more often is another question you should address. let's see some pics eventually yo..gluck
