Awesome Equipment And Still Sounds like...

You know here in the car audio world we live in, most of us here take pride in our system's . //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Whether it be SQ like me, or SPL, like others, it doesn't matter. At my job we have some interesting sytstems here. Most are geared toward SPL which is ok, and a couple like me which is geared toward SQ. That brings us to a guy at work whch we will call him Doug. Doug just don't get it. He has spent thousands of dollars trying to put togeather a system. He has had nothing but problems his whole journey. Amps wigging, speakers not working ect. Just a mess. Well, to my shagrin, Doug has upgraded his head unit, its about time lol, and put 4 infinity kappa's 6.5. So, he pulls me aside to give a listen. I am very hopeful. At low and I mean low volume it sounded nice. Well he turned it up and OMG!! The 4 kappa's he just installed were non existant. Break out the toilit paper because this system sounds like ***!! It wouldn't be so bad, but I know he is not happy with it even though he didn't say that . His face told the story. The guy has some great equipment across the board. If Doug was happy with a system that sounded like ***, (better him than me), I would be happy for him. But, he is not. Moral of the story: If a person takes the time and does their homework, with proper tweeking, a good system can be had whether it be SQ, or SPL. As for Doug, he just continues to put more money into it with bad results.

and you cant get to the bottom of his problem or give him advise?

Unfortunantly, I have tried to help but to no avail. One of these days I hope he will just throw his hands up in the air and actually listen to one of us. We can only hope??
