Avic N3 gps help...anyone?

I installed the N3 that i received today..The gps isnt working correctly, the location was all off it said i was in LA when im in Sacramento. i had to put it manually, after that i went for a drive around the block, i noticed that when i returned the location was about a block down from were i am, i installed the speed sense wire which was a white wire with a orange stripe in my 00 mustang. when i go to the gyros menu it says that its not available, no idea why since i plugged the speed sense wire.

i also did the reverse wire which i tapped directly from my reverse light.

any help/suggestions?

When the avic first power's up it will always show LA, i am in ny and it still shows la on every avic i have installed

i mounted in the rear close to my trunk, i have a convertible so it was the best spot.

Always goes to LA.You need to set it to current position then once the sat's pick you up it will dial in the right spot.Unless your antenna isn't working

some cars have more than one speedo wire, mabey check that you have it hooked upto the correct one.... have had, this problem befor with other model gps units, swapped the speedo cable over and worked fine.

The VSS wire doesn't need to be connected to have the GPS function.

it has built n gyro's, no need for speed sense wire... as long as the gps antenna is properly mounted, and the wire run properly and is conected, it should just take a few to registure ur location.
