avic-n2 question

Ok a friend asked me to make it so he could use his avic-n2 play dvd's while the car is not in park....please don't flame me with the typical "your a moron for trying to do this" post... Anyway, from searching the forums it seems like there are two ways of doing it...the first, looping the signal into the rear camera input seems to be an ok solution besides the fact that you loose the camera option...the second, soldering the points under the r9whatever sticker seems to be better if done correctly but more risky since it might mess up the unit....has anyone had experience with the solder method?
